The property in question is owned by the municipality of Omegna, located in Piazza Madonna del Popolo, 5 in Omegna (VB), and is a former school building with three floors above ground, built up to the first floor with foundations and beams surrounding the walls of the elements are in traditional reinforced concrete/brick, while on the first and second floors there are perimeter walls, false ceilings and internal partitions are made with cement-based materials where asbestos is present.
The works consist of the removal of materials containing asbestos located on the first and second floors of the building and the subsequent complete demolition of the building. Many of these materials are part of the structures that make up the building itself (external and internal load-bearing walls) and therefore it will be necessary to demolish the first and second floors, including the roof, to proceed with the reclamation works.
